Intimate and neighbourly group The Local bring The End Festival back to Crouch End in November. Over ten days there will be a whole host of shows taking place in venues including the grand Hornsey Parish Church Hall, quirky and cute The Haberdashery, local music supporters The Finsbury and The Crypt Studios, as well as Earl Haig Hall, Downstairs at The Kings Head and Rileys. Since the inaugural event in 2010, seasoned promoter and local resident Howard Monk, has been bringing great music and new listeners to the area.
The first announced acts include the bounding The Wave Pictures with their weighty back catalogue, gorgeous smouldering music from the Lowpines, dark and folky The Kindling, and The Fierce and the Dead, Arstidir, The Mae Trio, Ylja, Nadine Khouri, Annalie Wilson and The Oreilles.
Such quality evidently was not enough, and they have just added former Delgado Emma Pollock, fun time Liverpool band a.P.A.t.T, ex-Long Blonde Kate Jackson, Joyzine faves Elephants and Castles and many more. Because they are all about creating communities around music The Local have invited Before the Gold Rush, This is Wired, and Softly Softly to curate stages.
They’ve also hooked up with BIMM London, giving new young acts the opportunity to play on the bill. The Local curate stages themselves across many of the biggest festivals, including Camp Bestival, Wilderness, Secret Garden Party and End of the Road, so you know you are in for some quality.
