Listen Up: Pulp’s Russell Senior reads from his new book ahead of Louder Than Words Festival

Louder Than Words Festival takes place this weekend at Manchester’s Palace Hotel for its third outing.  Celebrating the link between music, literature and spoken word performance it features a line-up of readings and discussing featuring writers and musicians including The Selector’s Pauline Black, Steve Ignorant of Crass, Keith Levene of PiL and The Clash, John Robb and Pulp’s Russell Senior, who here shares an excerpt from his recent book Freak Out The Squares: My Life In A Band Called Pulp, in which he gives a brief glimpse into their Britpop era rivalry with Suede.

Louder Than Words takes place from 13th – 15th November at The Palace Hotel, Manchester.  Tickets priced at £60 for a weekend pass and from £15 – £40 for a day pass are available here.
