The Joyzine Advent Calendar – Day 21

We’ve another festive treat for you today, this time from a Norwegian band who formed for the sole purpose of creating Christmas music!

sunturns

Sunturns are that band, and featuring members of Moddi, Making Marks, Little Hands of Asphalt, Monzano and Einar Stray Orchestra, they’ve a pretty fine pedigree behind them.  Their debut album, simply titled Christmas was released in 2011 and has been reissued on vinyl by Fika Recordings along with a follow-up Christmas II for this year’s festivities.

Today we have the opening track from the new LP, ‘Sunni’ for you to download here.

  1. An Oopsie with no link? or did it get pulled deliberately? Thanks for ALL the others! A treat I look forward to each year.

    1. Hi Susan, thanks for the kind words.

This page is from the 2015 calendar & the label had only given us permission to keep the download live for a limited period, so I’m afraid it’s no longer available.

      1. Thank you for responding. I can only do the head-desk at how unobservant I was of the calendar date, makes perfect sense for the song to have elapsed. I can only claim that after a week of unco-operative internet, to finally get it to work, and to have it be a Joyzine advent page that opened and then it even was for Day #22, I just grabbed for it like a greedy ravenous thing. Of course, since I displayed my oops, my comp/net is behaving for going on 5 hours now, Yah!
