Video of the Day: Stephen EvEns – Captains of Convenience

There can be few people who’ve featured as often and in as many different guises within these pages as Brixton based multi-instrumentalist Stephen EvEns.  With his band Hot Sauce Pony and previously Local Girls and Stuffy & The Fuses, behind the kit for Art Brut, The Damned, Graham Coxon and many more, and most recently in his dashing psychedelic indie-pop solo guise, Mr EvEns has been a guest on the Joyzine Radio Show, contributed to our annual Advent Calendar and appeared at more of our live shows than I care to recall.

His debut album Bonjour Poulet, a hypnotic blend of downbeat guitar pop and misanthropic lyrics, is released today through Onomatopoeia Records (also home to Joyzine faves Barringtone), and from it we have the latest single ‘Captains of Convenience’ and a video filmed in our favourite London venue, The Windmill.

Stephen EvEns heads out on tour throughout February and March, appearing at the following venues:

24th February – The Harrison, London (w/ Bob Drake + Arch Garrison)
9th March – The Windmill, Brixton (Album Launch w/ Barringtone, William D. Drake + Rolf & Sam)
