Manchester based trio The Blinders come to us by way of recommendation from Caffy St Luce of Rocklands and The Zine, always a reliable source of new and vibrant sounds (check out her write up of 2003 as part of our Joyzine Is 15 celebrations), and as usual she’s not wrong.
‘Gotta Get Through’ is a psychedelic garage rock twister of a tune, with frontman Thomas Haywood’s impassioned vocal carried down a winding flume of Eastern-influenced guitars and staccato drumming. Check out the video below, which features greasepaint, sweat and an ominous hooded figure:
