Festival Preview: Cro Cro Land returns with headliners Billy Nomates, Goat Girl and Big Joanie + Joyzine faves aplenty on the lineup

Time is fast approaching for South London’s favourite and best indie music festival, Cro Cro Land. This is the festival’s third outing, returning to its new home at Stanley Arts in South Norwood, after last year’s sold-out success. Happening over the weekend of 5 and 6 April, it has a host of names already announced with Billy Nomates and Goat Girl heading the bill on the Saturday and Big Joanie on Sunday. Artists such as Berries, Bugeye, Currls and Jemma Freeman are all appearing again along with many other bands including A Void, The Priscillas, Grandma’s House, Arxx, Scrounge, Yuke and Rival Queens. With more bands still to be announced, it’s shaping up to be another packed weekend of great indie rock with a strong female representation. With two stages, two bars and plenty of freshly made food, is there a better way to spend an early spring weekend?

And for those wary of travelling south of the river, it is easy to get to Norwood Junction station, where it’s a five-minute walk to the venue. Southern Rail trains from Victoria and London Bridge stop there regularly, as do Thameslink trains to and from Brighton. And, of course, there’s the Overground Windrush line from East and North London. So, no excuses.
