Track Premiere: Exclusive new track from nównøis ahead of performance at Electroniq in London on 27th March

Joyzine is delighted to be partnering with Lucida Records for their Electroniq night, which on 27th March will bring some of the UK’s finest (and weirdest) electronic artists to Camden’s legendary Dublin Castle.

The show will see sets from Movement 81, Leg Puppy 2.0 (launching their new First World Problems LP), punkdiSCO and nównøis. Tickets are on sale now – get yours here.

In the lead up to the event, we’re bringing you exclusive tracks from each of the performers, and following the massive hooks of punkdiSCO’s ‘All The Things’ last week, today we’re delighted to bring you the first chance to hear a brand new song from London-based experimental musician, producer and vocalist nównøis.

Solo musician nownois stands in the dark in front of an abandoned looking building. She is wearing dark clothing with high-vis stripes and there are two streaks of light in the image, one horizontal from her chin and the other vertical up her left arm.

nównøis creates an atmospheric haze of trip-hop, dark electronic pop and alternative r&b and ‘i can feel my heartbeat’ is a perfect encapsulation of her self-produced sound. It features beats created from sounds of crunching leaves and tapping sticks recorded during an autumn walk in Finsbury Park, adding an organic texture to the purposefully minimal electronics which place the fragile vocal in the forefront of this stunning track. The chorus features a simple sampled vocal from Andy Hill (of acclaimed UK trip-hop act The Subtheory), which is warped and twisted along with some resonant low-end to add a further layer of emotional depth to the song.

You can hear it exclusively on Joyzine below.

Electroniq takes place at Dublin Castle, Camden on Friday 27th March.
Tickets, priced at £11 (including booking fee), are available here
