Between 2006 and 2011, riotous electro-punk outfit Applicants spat out music that mixed extreme noise with a love of pop music and a mischievous, filthy sense of humour. It all came to an end when frontman Fidel Villeneuve emigrated to Japan, or so we thought.
Shortly after Villeneuve’s departure, his band-mates had regrouped to from Without Fidel and in response, their former singer has created his own project With Fidel. It was perhaps only a matter of time before the two came together and 18th September sees a split single, featuring Without’s indie pop slice ‘John Coffee’ and With’s punky ‘Trophy Wife’, released through a collaboration between Plethora and Tigertrap Records.
