It’s day 19 on The Joyzine Advent Calendar, which according to Wikipedia is the Christian feast day of Pope Urban V, O Radix and Lillian Trasher all of whom I’m fairly sure we’ve received review requests from this year.
On today’s advent calendar we have another double serving of free music from two more of our favourite artists of the year, both of whom performed at this year’s Joyfest at The Windmill, Brixton back in March.
Track #1: Oh! Gunquit – Get Wound Up
Rumble-bop rebels Oh! Gunquit have been tearing up venues across the land with their hula-hooping, trumpet blaring, rockabilly roadshow this year, between which they found time to put out the excellent Hot Cross Fun EP and a single, ‘Nomads of the Lost’, which gave us a first glimpse of their forthcoming second album.
The band kick off 2017 with a show at Portsmouth’s Wedgewood Rooms on 14th January, but if you can’t wait that long for a taste of the new stuff, you’re in luck – we have an exclusive track from the album for you to download today.

Track #2: DOLLS – Audrey
London grunge-punk duo DOLLS rounded off the year with a performance at the final Fluffer Records Custard Thruster all-dayer in Bow (check out our review here), which rounded off busy twelve months of gigging around London and beyond.
They’ve been working on new material for 2017, but while that remains under wraps for now we’ve got a free download of previous single ‘Audrey’ for your listening pleasure today.
