So this is it, the night before Christmas, the final day of The Joyzine Advent Calendar 2016. It’s been a blast but we’re not quite done yet, we’ve two final downloadable delights to stuff your stocking today.
Track#1: Benbo ft. Oli Spleen – A Carol for Joseph
Singer-songwriter, cartoonist and Pink Lizard Music head honcho Benbo is a man of many collaborations, having previously undertaken a project to record a new song with a different artists every week for a year and they keep on coming with a new single ‘Keep It Funky (Oh No Ah-Ah)’, featuring Cape Town MC EJ Von Lyrik, released in November.
We’ve a filthy festive pairing for you today with Benbo and Oli Spleen delivering a naughty Nazareth narrative in ‘A Carol for Joseph’ (perhaps not one for those offended by sexual content or blasphemy).
Track #2: Darling BOY – Thank God It’s Christmas
We round off the year with a track from London singer-songwriter Darling BOY, whose song ‘Thank God It’s Christmas’ celebrates the modern British Christmas and in particularly the importance of sweet alcoholic beverages that you wouldn’t dream of consuming on any other day of the year.
As well as gigging around the country this year, Darling BOY also appeared as drummer Topper Headon in the Clash film London Town.
