To Hell With Good Intentions, our night of raw garage punk cacophony promoted in conjunction with local post-hardcore miscreants Frauds, kicked off its second year of noise at Hoodoo’s in Croydon with one of our best line-ups yet.
The venue was already busy and buzzing by the time local four piece The Jonbarr Hinge took to the stage for their second THWGI appearance and their angsty, literate alt rock went down a storm once more.
They were followed by the onstage histrionics and jerky, angular punk jags of Bo Gritz, whose mustachioed frontman Finn Holland spent as much time in the air as he did ripping shards of distorted sound from his guitar.
Next up were Gaygirl, fresh from a guest slot on The Joyzine Radio Show, whose combination of shimmering dreampop and gritty garage rock won plenty of new fans.
The night was rounded off in fine fashion by Melt Dunes whose heavy psych-laden post-rock threatened to shake Hoodoo’s down to its very foundations.
To Hell With Good Intentions will be back at Hoodoo’s on Friday 3rd March with another awesome line-up, click the image below for full details or visit facebook.com/tohellwithcroydon
