Mancunian psychedelic outfit Whyte Horses have an uncanny knack of fitting lyrics of abject misery around a sparkling pop tune with a genuine spring in its step. Who else could write a line like “Despondency is all around, and here beneath the sheets of life, a moan, and still a most disturbing sound” around such a cheery tune that it still manages to get you skipping around the room with a beaming smile.
‘Empty Words’ is the title track from the band’s second album, which is released through CRC Records on 9th March.
