Joyfest: Celebrate 15 years of Joyzine with us next weekend

This summer Joyzine turns 15 years old and to celebrate we’re holding a brace of parties at two of our favourite South London venues, featuring an awesome line-up of bands, all of whom have been featured on our website & radio show over the past decade and a half.

The celebrations kick off at The New Cross Inn, site of our first ever live show, on Saturday 28th July.  Featuring long-term Joyzine faves The Indelicates, East Anglian synth-punk oddballs Mega Emotion and country-punk troubadour (and Team Joyzine goalkeeper) Dexy.  DJ Johnny Nothing will then spin tunes into the early hours.  Tickets are £5 on the door.

Day two takes place at our home from home The Windmill in Brixton on Sunday 29th July.  Doors are at 5pm and we’ll be joined by noise-punk mavericks Rat The Magnificent, sci-fi blues explorers Vienna Ditto, psychedelic space-circus glam rock from Time Dilation Unit (a brand new band featuring members of The Fades and Helmholtz Resonators who will be playing their first gig), Young Sawbones, the latest incarnation of Stoney Sleep/First/Serafin frontman Ben Fox Smith, local legend Stephen Evens, bittersweet post-rock from Useless Cities and ethereal dream-pop from Emily Magpie.  Again Johnny Nothing will be behind the decks, and tickets will be just a fiver on the door.

We hope you’ll be there to celebrate with us – keep an eye on our Facebook page for up to date gig details.
