Gigs of the Week

It’s another week of top live shows around the capital, but the stand-out for us is taking place at our favourite London music den The Windmill in Brixton on Wednesday night, where this year’s Joyfest headliners Rat The Magnificent will be excoriating the ears of all present with their abrasive noise-punk.  They’ll be joined by the wondrous post-punk sounds of Hurtling, whose recent single ‘Summer’ has been on heavy rotation at Joyzine HQ.  Also on the line-up are Human Leather, who by the description on the events page of “brutally grinding” will be a good fit with the headline act, and Horace, whose gradually building post-rock instrumentals should be a fine way to prepare for the chaos that will be unleashed as the night progresses.

Rat The Magnificent, Hurtling, Human Leather + Horace
Wednesday 5th September at The Windmill, Brixton
Tickets £4, doors at 7.30pm
