Announcement: Joyzine Radio to go independent as podcast channel

As announced on last week’s show, The Joyzine Radio Show will broadcast its final episode on Wandsworth Radio on Wednesday 24th October as we launch a new independent Joyzine podcast channel.

We’ve had a fantastic eighteen months broadcasting with Wandsworth, which has seen the station move into new purpose built studios in Battersea and pick up the Digital Station of the Year award at The Community Radio Awards 2018.  We would like to thank everyone at the station for our time there and wish them well for the future.

The Joyzine Radio Show first aired in 2012 as one of the original shows on Croydon Radio, and was a staple of the schedule until the station sadly closed four and a half years later.

The show, presented by Joyzine founder Paul Maps, will now be recorded from Joyzine HQ in Tooting, with an expanded format that will allow for more guest appearances and more of the great new independent music that has always been our focus.

Available via Mixcloud, the channel will also feature regular shows by other members of the Joyzine team, as well as one off specials.  We are also looking for people who would like to present their own shows – if you would like to get involved, email with some information about yourself and your show idea and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Bands, record labels, venues, etc. who would like to appear on the show as guests or to have their music played or gigs listed should also get in touch via email:

More information about the channel and shows will be shared soon.  In the meantime we have two shows remaining on Wandsworth Radio – a regular show on Wednesday 3rd October, and a ‘Best of The Joyzine Radio Show’ special on 17th October.  Both can be heard live on from 7-8pm and will then be available as podcasts, along with more than 50 previous shows from
