Preview: CloseUp Festival

Following its success in 2018, the indie music festival returns to Hoxton Square Garden for its fourth year, now with a line-up now spanning two days. Hosted by CloseUp Promotions, the festival brings some of the UK’s finest up-and-coming acts into one place: an intimate, two-stage festival that feels like no other.

The headline act comes in the form of London quartet Childcare. The indie rock band have previously headlined Omeara and supported the hit band Bastille, and they are joined on the main stage by the high-energy rock five-piece Saltwater Sun, who Joyzine recently caught supporting Pom Poko at The Shacklewell Arms (review here), Femme and  Sølv with two further acts still to be added to the lineup.

Saturday brings the focus to the talented acts of the ‘dreampop’ trio Wyldest, and the dreamy Me and The Moon alongside Little Cub, Shanghai Blues, Violet and Moon Panda, and a further eight acts yet to be announced.

CloseUp Festival takes place at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchens from Friday 17th to Saturday 18th May.  Tickets, priced between £9 and £16.50 per day + booking fees are available from Ticketweb.
