The ever-reliable Margo’s Living Room series of live music video sessions returns this week with the final episode of season six, and we’re delighted to bring you the very first chance to view it here on Joyzine.
It’s always good to go out with a bang, and following excellent tracks from the likes of Dancehall, Art Trip & The Static Sound and Videocean the final instalment of the season serves up not just a magnificent slow-burning torch song from Mathilde Bataillé but also a bonus slice of sumptuous indie-folk from Funeral for Bird.
London-based French singer-songwriter Bataillé plays live at Matchsticks Pie House in Deptford on Saturday 11th May. Her latest EP Le Soleil Dans L’oeil is out now on NX Records. Her recording of ‘Half Pint Blues’ features rich vocals, a wonderfully gradual build and illuminated lager.
Funeral for Bird mix indie, folk and electronic music to create sparse and mellow sounds that warm and chill the bones in equal measure. Their new single ‘Set Fast’ was released last month. They’ve recorded a live version of the track as the bonus track for this season’s finale.
Check out Clark Kent’s Rock & Roll Revue on YouTube for all of the tracks from all six series of Margo’s Living Room.
