Playlist: Hear the artists who’ll be playing for The Trussell Trust at Saturday’s Balcony Festival

With our fourth Balcony Festival only a couple of days away we’ve put together a playlist of the eleven artists who will be performing to raise money for the UK’s largest food bank charity, The Trussell Trust, on Saturday.  You’ll be able to watch the whole show here on Joyzine from 1.00pm UK time.

Balcony is a collaboration between Joyzine and fellow UK blogs and promoters Louderthanwar, LOUD WOMEN, God Is In The TV, GigSlutz, The Zine UK, Benumu, Crocroland, Sonic Tonic, The Bechdel Sound Test, Louise Schofield and Quarantini.  Each promoter selects one band per festival giving us a diverse snapshot of the UK DIY music scene at each of the fortnightly events.  This will be our fourth festival, with previous events having raised more than £3,500 for causes including NHS Charities Together, Refuge and Musicians Against Homelessness.  These shows can all be viewed on our Youtube channel.

Saturday’s show will be our biggest yet with exclusive performances recorded in lockdown by eleven artists, starting with electro-rock artist Lara Smiles, the breathless indie-pop of Foundlings, Rosehip Teahouse‘s sparkly bedroom pop, the epic choral-punk of Jenny Moore’s Mystic Business and avant-punk queen Nuha Ruby Ra.  Alt-rock favourites Hurtling, the acoustic rock, folk and blues of Foxpalmer, Winchester-based solo artist Keel Her, the trance-like hysteria of Dance-Roc outfit The DSM IV, Berries mix of gnarly grunge and sugary pop and indie pop artist Nadia Sheikh complete the line-up.
