Video: Hey You Guys! – Brutal Holiday

Worcester power-pop trio Hey You Guys! are gearing up for the release of their forthcoming Onward Christian Soldiers! EP with a new single and video.

Taking inspiration from the unlikely source of 1972 slapstick comedy Carry On Abroad, the track also features what is becoming a trademark of the band – crowd-sourced gang backing vocals, which provide a little extra punch to an already pretty pugilistic chorus. The twenty strong choir includes a mixture of fans, fellow musicians and, perhaps more ill-advisedly, Joyzine editor Paul Maps.

It’s accompanied by a video featuring HYG! frontman Peter Richard Adams ‘enjoying’ what looks like a typical British summer’s day at the beach, complete with grey skies and high winds.

‘Brutal Holiday’ is out now via Bandcamp and all of the usual streaming sites.
