Mumble Tide have released ‘On My Deathbed There’s a Full Page (You Don’t Get To Read It)’ a title so long it’s just 9 characters short of that Welsh train station that news readers fear. It’s taken from their forthcoming mini-album Everything Ugly out in November and it’s another glorious pop-pearl formed around indie grit. Vocalist Gina Leonard says of the song:

I wrote this song a while ago, it’s one about reflecting on years of unrequited love – about the light that can shine out of a void…. texting someone late at night who you know is bad for you. It’s about how chasing something that isn’t real requires creativity and resilience, but also ignorance.

It’s one of our more poppy, youthful tracks but there’s a healthy dose of cynicism and confidence in there that I guess comes with age. We went through a lot of different versions with this one and nearly gave up on it many times, but we kept coming back to it and finally things fell into place.

Ryan Rogers guitar chops and shimmers like the sun-dappled meniscus on water with singer Gina expertly pond-skating her way across. Her clear voice is Cardigans-warm and can hug the song’s landscape or soar off into the stratosphere. The production sparkles, the flow from verse to chorus is seamless and the final acoustic section leading to a final chorus gets better the more times you listen.

The digital release of Everything Ugly is on 21 November and you can also pick up a limited orange vinyl and Mumble Bundle (vinyl + hat + cassette) from their Bandcamp page
