SINGLE REVIEW: CLAMM – SOMETHING NEW

“Something New ” is the new single from Australian three piece ‘CLAMM’ which is out today.

If you haven’t come across them yet, CLAMM released their debut album in 2020,, and their latest single is the third single to be taken from their upcoming second album ‘Care’ which is on August 19th.

The song is a raucous indie punk affair with shouty lead vocals, which shifts into slightly  more melodic group vocals in the chorus. The different vocal sections of the song make for a winning formula, as “Something New” is sure to get stuck in your head. I can certainly see it not feeling out of place on an energising, motivational playlist for when you want to get stuff done! There is something about the pace and tone that feels like a call to action, or a good kick up the bum to get moving.

CLAMM’s guitarist and vocalist Jack Summers says of the track:‘Something New’ is a song about searching or yearning. It is about impatience and time, and its title refers to the process of facing seemingly new stimuli throughout life.'”

CLAMM have already been receiving attention from BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music amongst others, in addition to touring with the likes of Amyl and The Sniffers. So it will be exciting to hear what their second album will bring to our awaiting ears. If ‘Something New’ is anything to go by, it will be worth the wait.

‘Something New” is out today on Meat Machine
