Video Premiere: Death Knell’s Steel String Thing – Searching In The Dirt

Death Knell’s Steel String Thing (or DKSST as we’ll be referring to them from this point onwards to save the wear on my keyboard) is the new punkpoetry project of songwriter Noel Anderson (JC Flowers, Facel Vega, COP, ADVERT, Satellites of Love & Unwork Records). ‘Searching In The Dirt’, the first single taken from his forthcoming debut album, is being released by the never not excellent Crocodile Laboratories London, and features several members of the Croc Labs roster including Amy Studt on extra vocals and Finn Kidd on drums.

‘Searching In The Dirt”s lyrics reflect the theme of recovery that is prevalent throughout DKSST’s work, with its repeated refrain of “It#s not a tree but a seed”, it showcases Anderson’s diverse influences ranging from Leonard Cohen to Richard Hell.

DKSST play T E I H M (The Enemy is Human Misery): A night of punk poetry at 101 Social, Margate on 13th December with Dee Sada, Moon Zero, Poppy Cockburn. Tickets, priced £5 + booking fee, can be found here. Keep your eyes peeled for more live dates around the UK in the new year.
