TIGER! SHIT! TIGER! TIGER! pretty much sums up most people’s reaction if they saw a tiger in the flesh (i.e. on your local high street, not in a zoo) and though much will be made of the band’s name (see also PIGS, PIGS, PIGS, PIGS, PIGS, PIGS, PIGS, Cats And Cats And Cats and Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard*) they have released a song that more than matches it.
Their new single ‘Stones’ is a big track. Big chords bleeding into feedback, a big granite bass line, hauntingly big widescreen vocals cloaked in vast reverb, and big ground shaking drums. He-Man had the ‘Power of Grayskull’ and TIGER! SHIT! TIGER! TIGER! have the power of My Bloody Valentine combined with the dreamscape of Ride, and it’s a heady combination. With a new album coming out in 2024 I see big things ahead.
TIGER! SHIT! TIGER! TIGER! are Diego Masciotti (guitar, vocals), Giovanna Vedovati (guitar, vocals) and Nicola Vedovati (drums).
