SINGLE REVIEW: JANE WEAVER – PERFECT STORM

Jane Weaver has announced her forthcoming album Love In Constant Spectacle with the track ‘Perfect Storm’. It’s gloriously hypnotic pop that has the feel of countryside rolling passed the window on a sunny train journey, which resonates with the fact that it originated from an arpeggiated loop and “conjures little scenes of someone who can foresee something unfortunate on the horizon”.  Weaver’s voice has a soft optimism that swirls around the track’s undulating rhythm and it’s very easy to get lost in the mood right up until the cliff edge ending.

The album is out via Fire Records on 5th April and you can pre-order vinyl, CD and download via Jane Weaver’s Bandcamp page. She is also on tour from April, tour dates below.

Perfect Storm Lyrics

I went up to the big town
I was sinking in oceans
I was looking sentimentality
it was all without devotion
You’re always looking for something else

Didn’t take me to see that long
Putting stickers on backs of cars
For how long did you sink that low?
And now, and now, and now
you’ve gone too far
Lets try and make amends
before this scene awakes

You were easily mean to me
So it was easy to be alone
I don’t know but it seems to me
Sometimes it goes on and on
Stay in the distance and make a pact
I will leave it and be alone
And if somebody makes me laugh
A convenient perfect storm

And now and now and now
And now you’ve gone gone too far

Let’s try and make amends
Under our world tonight
There’s only half a chance
Under the distant light
And desperately…we stop
