Album Review: The Blamers- Class Living

‘Class Living’ is the debut album from Sydney Rock band The Blamers.

The band have a mission to simplify rock back to its basic proto-punk form, and listening to their debut, I would say they have very much accomplished that with this album.

I am loving the dynamic of the two women, two men line up. The music is modern and fresh, but also has a retro feel, which is sure to appeal to a mixed fan base. ‘Sex Trail’ has rock n roll swagger while ‘Risk Kiss’ is funky with a catchy bass line. ‘All Bark No Bite’ has sixties girl group vibes written all over it. If I had to sum up the genre they play, I would say it’s a cross between rock, punk and retro pop- basically my personal favourite genres mushed together.

‘Class Living’ is out this Friday through Agitated Records, you can preorder from their Bandcamp
