‘Madeline Trip’ is a taste of the forthcoming EP from Rodney Cromwell. This 54 second song is the audio equivalent of trying a sample of an ice cream flavour in the parlour; a tiny flavour burst, full of promise for the full scoops that lie ahead. This gentle electronic babbling brook could be a TV theme, an intro to a schools programme, an audio hallucination as you wake from a dream, or the sonic marshmallows on top of your Cromwell Cappuccino. Whatever it is, this delightful LSD-laced petit four bodes well for Exercise Class EP which is released on 14 June.
The video, which is being seen here on Joyzine, first packs so much into its running time: psychedelic swirlies, a blown out testcard, neon lenticular kittens, sea, power lines and so much more. Joyzine takes no responsibility if any subliminal blip-verts cause you to cluck like a chicken or eat an onion as if its an apple but it doesn’t need any hidden persuaders to make you want to listen to the EP.
