We Are Wolves are the Montreal-based duo of Alexander Ortiz and Vincent Levesque and they have given Joyzine readers the chance to hear the “dystopian dance-rock” of their new single ‘Súper Normal’ ahead of its release tomorrow, 17th July.
A light dusting of percussion at the start of the track gives way to a riff that’s every bit as ultra-catchy as Hot Chip’s ‘Over and Over’. It’s a Pied Piper’s tune that draws you through the song feeding dopamine to your brain every time it re-appears. There is a driving beat and, combined with the bounce of the percussion and repetition of the track’s title, it has the feel of Kraftwerk drinking strong rum at the Rio Carnival.
We Are Wolves’ sixth album is coming later this year so follow them on social media to find out more.
