SINGLE REVIEW: BADJA – FEELING GOOD

It’s early days for Badja with only two tracks released on streaming services including their second single ‘Feeling Good’, although they have unreleased tracks featured Paramount+ and Disney+ shows as well as Love Island USA. When you listen to ‘Feeling Good’ you can see why as the band pump up the party like Spring Break on steroids.

‘Feeling Good’ does what it says on the tin. Tipping barely over two-minutes it wastes no time in moving from the playful call to arms of “I don’t wanna be, always wanna get, all the bad vibes, bye-bye” into a full-on rhythmic bonanza of handclaps, sparkling agogo bells, propulsive drums and a singer’s masterclass that wraps the tune in vocal fireworks from call and response, shout-outs, hype and harmonies.

This blueprint for fun has all the joy of a modern ‘Groove Is In The Heart’ and I asked Badja to sum it up, “’Feeling Good’, much like us as a band, is all about good vibes, positivity & having fun! In 2025, expect much more music, far more regularly & the release our debut EP!

Warning: repeated listening to this may cause aching muscles from excessive hands-in-the-air action, and you’ll not be able to help yourself joining in with the super-catchy end chant of “Shoo-wop-bibbidi-bap-da-bap-boo-wap-bibbidi-bap-da-bap-shoo-wap-bibbidi bap-da-bap-boo” (I want that on a t-shirt). I can see big things ahead for Badja but for now, if you want to nitrous your Christmas or New Year party then push play and watch the room jump.
