Crystal Palace Park, the South London home to much-loved Victorian dinosaurs, a sphynx and the National Sports Centre, amongst many other pleasures and treasures to be found, and since 2021 home to South Facing Festival, an eclectic series of outdoor shows bringing together cult alternative rock heroes, hip hop legends and pop megastars over the course of the month of August.
The 2025 line-up boasted post-rock icons Mogwai (check our Caroline’s full review of their set here), 90s trip hop royalty Morcheeba, disco hall of famer Nile Rogers & Chic, hip hop trailblazer Busta Rhymes, dance music veterans Basement Jaxx and Flackstock, a day packed with pop acts from the 90s to the present day raising money for mental health charities and celebrating the life of television presenter Caroline Flack.
Joyzine’s Rupert Hitchcox and Julia Hawkins were there to capture the action on camera.
