Brighton’s Chalk was blessed with an insane, entirely female-fronted lineup of alt punk power, energy and aggression, and fitted perfectly to warm up the energy for the opening show of Nova Twins’ UK tour was the gritty, confident: Venus Grrrls.
Bringing punk and punchy riot grrrl energy to the stage, Venus Grrrls do not shy away from confrontational topics, and their loud declarations of feminism and empowerment set the perfect tone for the night.
When Nova Twins hit the stage, the crowd was already wild. With their signature distorted bass-heavy riffs and infectious stage energy, Amy and Georgia proved that they sure know how to throw a party. Even joining the crowd in the mosh pit at one point, their high energy genre-blending sound and connection with the audience only pushed things further.
Overall, a loud, vibrant and confident start to the Parasites & Butterflies tour, proving the strength of Nova Twins’s highly anticipated third full length album.
