The Joyzine Radio Playlist: Our selection of 10 tracks from this week’s gigs & releases

With Croydon Radio temporarily off the air while the station relocates to a new studio, we’ll be giving you your weekly new music fix through our Joyzine Radio Playlist – 10 tracks meticulously honed from the week’s gigs and new releases.  Here’s this week’s selection:

1. Vienna Ditto – Oh Josephine
Our favourite voodoo sci-fi blues duo play Nestival at The Bird’s Nest, Deptford on Thursday night.  It’s free entry and bands start at 5pm so get there early.

8. K.Flay – Blood In The Cut
The phrase ‘fuses hip-hop/rap with punk rock influences’ is usually one that brings the Joyzine review staff out in a cold sweat, but thankfully on her new single K.Flay has got the balance just right, resulting in a track imbued with drop dead noir-ish cool.  Catch her live at Reading & Leeds festivals this weekend and at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on 6th September.

9. Rattle – Stringer Bell
Intriguing minimalist track from Nottingham based drumming duo Rattle, taken from their self-titled album which was released earlier this month.
