It’s day 14 on The Joyzine Advent Calendar and what with Christmas being celebrated all over the world, we thought we’d cast our net a little further today and bring you a track from across the Atlantic.
Nicole Atkins – A Little Crazy
Hailing from the township of Neptune, New Jersey and now residing in Brooklyn, American singer-songwriter Nicole Atkins mixes vintage influences from 50s crooners to 60s soul and psychedelia along with a healthy dose of country to build lush torch songs with a sparkling pop finish.
Nicole has been working on a brand new album, Goodnight Rhonda Lee, her fourth LP which is due for release in the Spring. The album was funded through a successful Pledge Music campaign and is the follow up to 2014’s Slow Phaser.
Having previously collaborated with The Bad Seeds’ Jim Sclavunos, her new single ‘A Little Crazy’ was co-written with Chris Isaak and provides a tantalising glimpse of what we’re in store for on the new record.
