French for Cartridge’s lush fourth album The Golden Hour, recorded with the CHROMA Ensemble, was one of our favourites of last year, but was a tricky one to track down with its physical release being strictly pre-order only and with no online availability, the only way to hear it if you weren’t quick enough off the mark was to attend one of the band’s Golden Hour listening parties, held in a variety of locations across the globe in the time just before sunset (known as the golden hour due to the quality of light).
However on 17th May, the band will finally be making the LP available online, and to whet our collective appetites they’ve worked with filmmaker Dorna Aslanzadeh to create a suitably haunting video for ‘End of The World’, using facetracking to make animated deathmasks to mouth along to the apocalyptic lyrics.
