Following the success of last year’s debut, Portsmouth Psych Fest returned to Albert Road with another killer line up. Split between 3 stages at The Wedgewood Rooms, Edge of the Wedge and Acapulco, it was sadly impossible to see everyone playing but that’s not such a bad position to be in.
For a festival this new, both years have drawn a phenomenal mix of artists with venue headliners Flamingods, Melt Dunes and Yowl all worth seeing on their own, never mind with a supporting cast including the fabulous Madonnatron, fast rising Hotel Lux and special guests The Wytches.
With the main stage transformed into a giant kaleidoscope by visual projectionist Innerstrings, the huge turnout showed once again that there is strong support for this genre in the local area. And with all those running the stages putting on live music throughout the year there are still many opportunities to support this if you missed the weekend.
