Video of the Day: Luxembourg – Youth

Those of you who’ve been keeping an eye on Joyzine since the beginning will be familiar with pop noir exponents Luxembourg, who were a regular fixture within these pages in the mid-noughties.  They called it a day around ten years ago, leaving behind two albums of elegant indie pop observations and went their separate ways, forming bands such as The Melting Ice Caps, Jonny Cola & The A-Grades and The New Royal Family.

They briefly re-appeared for a reunion show at The Islington in 2016 and have since been working behind the scenes on a new EP, Youth, which is due for release on the 8th of May, with further gigs promised in the not too distant future.

Today we have the video for the EP’s title track, which sees the ‘bourg back on top form.  It’s packed with the spiralling guitar lines, deadpan vocals and soaring choruses that drew us to them the first time around.
