Bands names are difficult. We’re more than sixty years into pop music and all the obvious ones are already taken. Thankfully though Perth fourpiece Psychedelic Porn Crumpets laugh in the face of the obvious and embrace the ridiculous. They sound very much like you expect a band called Psychedlic Porn Crumpets might, only better.
It’s not just in the name either – new single ‘My Friend’s A Liquid’, the follow up to ‘Social Candy’ which so bewitched our Steve Horry a couple of months back (read the review here), is packed to the technicolour gills with frankly ludicrous stylistic jumps, and the trippy visuals do a fine job of keeping pace.
The band head out on tour around the UK in February. It promises to be magnificently odd.
