Following a wonderful opening weekend in New Cross (which you can read about here: day 1 / day 2), the Joyzine 20th Birthday tour rolled into The Lexington for a birthday bash featuring long-term Joyzine soul punk favourites The Fades (also celebrating their own 20th anniversary this year), outsider dream rock trio Jemma Freeman & The Cosmic Something (and their Xenomorph) and rock quartet The Burning Feathers.
The tour continues on 30th September at The Gate in Cardiff, where we’ll be helping our chums at God Is In The TV to celebrate their 20th, alongside the similarly ace folk from The ZineUK with sets from Adwaith, Chroma, Ani Glass, The Honest Poet, Papaya Noon, Half Happy and Kaptin (DJ) – tickets available here. The festivities will then be rounded off at The Amersham Arms in New Cross, where alongside the same two venerable publications, we’ll celebrate with Fonda 500 (who were featured in the very first edition of Joyzine back in 2003), who will be playing their last ever London show, Bugeye, Feral Five and Colossus – tickets here.
