Long-term Joyzine favourite Gemma Rogers is back with a new single, and we’re delighted to bring you the first opportunity to see the video. ‘Molly_1989′ is a catchy two-minute pop-punk blast, showcasing Rogers’ sharp tongue and equally pointed wit as she dissects a relationship creeping from promising to toxic and tries to determine how many chances is too many.
The track, which recently received its first play on Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6Music show, is accompanied by a steadycam video, tracking our protagonist (played by Oriel Echo) and her dating app messages and photos on a wander through Regents Park. You can see it first below.
With a new album, LP2, planned for later this year, Gemma kicks off a string of live dates with a free show alongside Fever rogue and Camber for cult indie label Fierce Panda and End of The Trail at East London’s Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes on 17th June (free tickets here) before heading to the following festivals:
June 28th – The Big Top – Croissant Neuf – Glastonbury Festival
July 26th – Sancho Panza ‘Campo Sancho Festival’ – Hertfordshire
August 3rd – Headline performance – Multitude Festival, Milton Keynes
August 9th – Headline performance – At The Edge Of The Sea Festival, Brighton
