Electroniq is a showcase of some of the best up-and-coming names in electronica. With a focus on live vocals and immersive visuals, the event puts female artists front and centre, highlighting the talent shaping the future of the scene. We caught up with resident act Leg Puppy 2.0 for the July (31st) event.

Leg Puppy 2.0 are the biggest band in the world called Leg Puppy 2.0, they have sold more records than any other band in history called Leg Puppy 2.0. They have been calling out various forms of bullshit for almost 10 years.
Who and what are your inspirations?
It’s far too easy to name bands, as everyone is influenced by bands, so I guess, people, usually annoying ones, social media, society and classic TV shows like Nathan Barley. I mean, that show alone is responsible for one of the most prophetic phrases of the 21st century. “They babble into their hand-held twit machines’ Chris Morris and Charlie Brooker saw the future! In some ways, that’s the Andy Warhol moment of our times. After all, it was Warhol who claimed everyone will have their 15 minutes of fame, with TikTok and other annoying platforms this is most definitely true. The world has become full of buffoons desperate for attention. I confess, I have been one of those buffoons on a few occasions.
Ah, so your song ‘Twit Machine’ is a reference to that show?
100%, although the idiots no longer babble into a hand-held twit machines, the twit machine babbles back, usually from a loud speaker on public transport.
Think I’m getting the hang of this, so are they a Phone Twat?
Yes! They most definitely are. I wrote a track called ‘Selfie Stick Narcissistic Prick’ a few years back, which became our anthem, people in the audience would nervously sing a long, hoping they wouldn’t be exposed for being one. Then something horrible happened with phones, they removed the headphone jack. It was a pretty horrific moment in history, as the ‘Phone Twat’ was born, there is no excuse for having private conversations on a loud speaker, especially on public transport. I sampled a Russ Kane rant from TikTok and wrote ‘Phone Twat’, now this has truly become our anthem, people love this at gigs. It’s all satire and a bit of fun. I know ‘Phone Twats’ attend our gigs; we welcome everyone at our shows.
What is your proudest moment musically?
‘Jonny Pigman’. My girlfriend who is a brilliant writer and poet, also talks in her sleep. One evening she was talking about someone called Johnny Pigman, she practically wrote the track in her sleep, it’s an incredible story of a retired assassin who is offered one last job. It’s a 10 minute epic, I got my lovely GF to actually play Jonny Pigmans partner and do the vox. She did an incredible job!
What happened with you guys and the Sleaford Mods?
This was probably our most punk moment of all. We went to see the Mods at the Roundhouse, it was rammed. We were just about to release ‘Twit Machine’, I thought, this is our target audience, so we printed some flyers and handed them out, most landed in the bin of course, because that’s where most flyers end up.
We had a few beers when Hugo Bamboo (not his real name) asked if he could borrow the clown mask, for those of you who have no idea what’s going on here, we used to have a clown at our shows, why, because clowns are hilarious fun right? Anyway, this all happened in slow motion, but I remember looking up and there was Bamboo, standing on the Roundhouse stage next to the actual Sleaford Mods, wearing a flashing clowns mask. The lead singer turned around and starting laughing, then proceeded to say “This is not part of the act you know” Alas, we were thrown out and the rest is history. We made our mark on rock n roll and we really showed the Sleaford Mods what punk was. I think this can be found on Youtube somewhere or on our socials.

Which artist would you most love to support?
The Sleaford Mods (properly this time)
What can we except from you at Electroniq?
We’ve played over 150 shows, we’ve never done the same set twice. I love the idea of not knowing, that’s kinda exciting to me. I also want people to escape the shit show that is reality, come to a Leg Puppy show, escape for 25 mins. I guarantee most people will relate to our music, whether it’s ‘Phone Twat’, ‘Linkedin Lick Ars’ ‘Selfie Stick – Narcissistic Prick’ or even our cover of the iconic ‘Warm Leatherette’ which I confess, I get the words wrong every time we play it. But hey, in a world full of fakery and A.I. perfection, it’s good to be human!
We will be joined by the amazing Nównøis and Sophie Sirota, so it’s not all just pumping in your face satire.
Electroniq July 31st also features Ashkat, Sophie Sirota & Lia Mice with live visuals by Jack Hollywood.
