The Joyzine Advent Calendar #7: 24 Days of Free Music Downloads – Lost Map Records Supergroup Friends of The Guinness

Yesterday’s Advent Calendar treat was AK/DK’s electronic rendering of festive rock n roll classic ‘Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree’ (which you can still download here). Today we’ve another seasonal special for you courtesy of a supergroup formed by one of our favourite independent labels.

As always, the tracks are completely free to to download and there’s no need to sign up to any mailing lists to access the tracks (though if you’d like to you can join ours here), but with the UK’s independent music venues in peril following almost a year of covid restrictions, we’d love you to make a donation to the Music Venue Trust‘s #saveourvenues campaign if you enjoy these tracks. You can make a donation to the fund, or to a specific venue of your choice here.

Based on the remote Scottish isle of Eigg, Lost Map Records have been turning out consistently wonderful releases throughout the year from the likes of Jenny Moore’s Mystic Business, Rozi Plain and Clementine March. They’ve banded together for the festive season to create a 2020 Xmas Card mini-album featuring a collection of seasonal standards and some Christmassy originals from artists on the label including A.R. Pinewood, Fell, Marble Gods and Happy Spendy, available as part of their PostMap Club subscription, which you can sign up to for just £3 a month here.

Today we have a track recorded for the card by Lost Map supergroup Friends of The Guinness, consisting of Martha Ffion, Romeo Taylor, Eimear from Happy Spendy, Beth & Craig from Savage Mansion and Ryan from Catholic Action.
