Christmas, we are often told, is a time for friends and family so behind today’s Advent Calendar window, we have a track for you from one of our friends and his family.
Pete Adams, who regular readers may know from his time in And What Will Be Left Of Them? (whose ‘Filthy Little Christmas‘ remains one of favourite festive tunes to have graced these pages, Hey You Guys and Lost Boy Scout, as well as his occasional writings for this very site, has recorded a Christmas album with his wife Rosie Green (of the Basement Orchestra and Stow-Capella Choir), and it’s rather splendid.
Released under the name Peter with Rosie, Christmas In The Market Towns is a lo-fi festive delight made up of a mix of festive standards and freshly penned originals. They’ve provided us with one such new track, ‘The Market Towns’. You can hear the whole album here.

But never a man to rest on his festive laurels, Pete has also written ‘The Christmas Thief’ a cautionary tale of yuletide larceny and a chance for redemption written in verse and recorded for broadcast on The Joyzine Podcast Alliance. You can listen here – look out for an illustrated version on YouTube soon.
And as if one Christmas podcast wasn’t enough, he’s also recorded a seasonal special of his sci-fi comedy Pod To Pluto, which is available to listen to now via Cornucopia Radio.
