Yesterday’s Advent Calendar window housed a quartet of tracks featuring Worcester’s pop-punk wizard Peter Richard Adams, with a track from his solo project alongside songs from Peter With Rosie, AWWBLOT and Hey You Guys – you can download them all here. Today we have a track that, whilst not festive, is guaranteed to bring you good cheer.
As always, the tracks are completely free to to download and there’s no need to sign up to any mailing lists to access the tracks (though if you’d like to you can join ours here), but with the UK’s independent music venues in peril following almost a year of covid restrictions, we’d love you to make a donation to the Music Venue Trust‘s #saveourvenues campaign if you enjoy these tracks. Jean Genie is one of the most cheerful and positive people we’ve had the pleasure of meeting in more than 17 years of doing of this, and I’d challenge even the most humbuggish of Scrooges to get through a full set of hers without cracking a smile.
Performing and recording as Jean Genie’s Massive Hugs, she has been working on new songs and ideas for 2021 with friends and producers, and today we have a track that, whilst a staple of her live shows for a while has yet to be released (which will be rectified on 4th March), and if anything’s going to tap into what little optimism 2020 has left us with, it’s a song called ‘Vaccine’.
