It’s day nine on The Joyzine Advent Calendar and time to welcome back an old acquaintance.
Back in the early days of Joyzine, and our sister site Maps Magazine (RIP), barely a week went by without a mention of Subliminal Girls, and following a nine year hiatus, the arch indie-popsters are back with a new album in the pipeline. We reviewed their comeback show at Kingston’s Fighting Cocks and were delighted to find them in fine fettle. More shows are promised for the new year and to get you in the mood, the band have provided us with ‘What You Want’, a track recorded before their 2009 split that never saw the light of day.
