If you’ve not noticed us banging on about it all year, Joyzine turned 15 years old in the summer, and to celebrate we threw a little two-day party in South London. Today’s double advent calendar treat comes from a trio who were one of the highlights of the weekend.
East Anglian electro pop three-piece Mega Emotion brought tunes to Joyfest that were every bit as magnificent as the stripy robes which adorned them onstage. They’ve recently been working on a project in which they are writing and recording songs, each written personally for the first 50 people to have bought their EP. The first of these tracks, ‘Laura’ was video of the day on Joyzine a few weeks back.
The band’s debut album is also in the works and we’re looking forward to hearing what they have in store for us. In the meantime, we have a sneaky peek of what’s to come in the shimmering loveliness of today’s free download ‘A Braver Girl’.

And as if releasing a debut album and embarking on a 50 song project weren’t enough to keep them busy, the trio have also started a new band, named via a social media poll as Lady Di. Growling and scratching where Mega Emotion glisten and sigh, the band released their debut track ‘Do Better‘ earlier this year and have provided us with a brand new track ‘Home Alone’ for the calendar. Our interest has certainly been piqued from what we’ve heard so far and we await further developments with bated breath.
